Homemade Meatball Hoagies

Ingredients

2-3 pounds fresh or frozen meatballs (see homemade meatball recipe below)

1 jar (24 oz) Jesben® Italian Tomato, Peppers & Herbs Slow Cooker Sauce

8 – 10 hoagie rolls

Optional:  provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place meatballs in slow cooker. * (If using homemade meatballs, make meatballs in slow cooker as directed below.)  Pour entire jar of Jesben® Italian Tomato, Peppers & Herbs Slow Cooker Sauce on top of meatballs. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours or until meat is fully cooked.
  2. Spoon meatballs with sauce into hoagie rolls (toasted if desired).
  3. If desired, top with provolone cheese. 

Makes 8-10 servings.

 

* Homemade Slow-Cooked Meatballs

2 pounds 90% lean ground beef 2 eggs

1 cup oatmeal or bread/cracker crumbs

½ cup water

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon pepper

 

Add all ingredients to slow cooker.  Mix well with hands and form into meatballs (still in slow cooker). Then continue with step 1. of instructions above.
